Cloud Forest Hike
Enjoy a half day hiking experience along the Lost Waterfalls Trail of La Amistad National Park. The trail runs parallel to Quebrada La Mina - a creek that crosses some of the ridges and valleys above Boquete, creating spectacular waterfalls that spill into Caldera River. The 4.5 km round trip trail requires a moderate fitness level as some sections are challenging.
Barú Volcano
An amazing full day hiking adventure in Barú Volcano National Park, taking place at night in order to enjoy the sunrise from the volcano. The trails ascends to 3500 meters above sea level in the first 6 hours, where you will be able to admire the breathtaking panoramic views of the Panamanian coastlines, Pacific and Caribbean, from the highest point of Panama; besides experiencing different forests and microclimates.
Mombacho Volcano
Journey into the lush cloud forest around the majestic Mombacho Volcano, spotting wildlife and taking in the incredible panoramic views from the top. After travelling to the Mombacho Nature Reserve, you'll begin to climb the volcano by 4x4 truck, stopping for a delicious local coffee at one of the plantations along the way.
Tisey Nature Reserve
Discover the natural beauty of Esteli as you explore the surroundings with a local guide. Your experience starts at the Estanzuela Waterfall. After a short walk, you'll visit a traditional farm that hosts the highest viewpoint of the reserve, on a clear day the best place to enjoy panoramic views from Lake Managua to the volcanoes of the Pacific. After lunch a moderately challenging hike down to the valley brings you to a subsistence farm surrounded by dense forest and farmland, Finca El Jalacate.
Panamonte Inn
Dating back to 1914, this elegant country hotel in the highlands of Boquete has hosted guests such as Teddy Roosevelt, Charles Lindbergh and Richard Byrd during its long history. Surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens, and with an excellent restaurant and lounge, it makes for a relaxing haven for a few days in this peaceful part of Panama.
Marduk Garden
Marduk Gardens Boutique Hotel is located near Esteli, at the top of the reserve El Tisey-Estanzuela, at 1450 meters above sea level. The hotel has three luxuriously decorated cabins in vintage style, including a bedroom, a living room, a balcony, and a bathroom with hot water. The hotel has a small on-site restaurant, extensive gardens, and various trails to explore the beautiful surroundings.
